Once again there was a stir in the politics of Uttarakhand, this time Congress’s wicket has fallen on one side. For the last two and a half decades, along with the Congress, the block chief of Dwarkhal block and the party’s state general secretary Mahendra Singh Rana left the party.

In a letter sent to the party’s national president Sonia Gandhi, he has accused the party of promoting nepotism by neglecting its loyal workers.

In a letter sent to Sonia Gandhi, he wrote, “I have been an active member of the Congress party in Uttarakhand for the last 25 years and have been rendering my services to the party organization for the last 15 years while holding various positions in the party organization. At present, I am serving the party organization whole-heartedly as a member of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and as the State General Secretary.

After serving for such a long time in the party, I had claimed ticket to be made party candidate from Yamkeshwar assembly constituency in the year 2017 and 2022 assembly elections and I had full faith that the party leadership would oblige me in view of my long service. But despite my long service, I was constantly neglected by the party organization.

At present, the way factionalism and old workers are being neglected in Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress organization, it appears that instead of loyal and hardworking workers in the Congress party organization, preference is being given to sycophancy and nepotism, due to which like me. Loyal workers are hurt.

After a long organizational service in the Congress Party, I resign from all the posts of the Congress Party and the primary membership of the party.
