Amid the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the murder of 19-year-old Ankita Bhandari, a 19-year-old girl working in a resort in Rishikesh, the preliminary forensic report of the girl’s viscera samples has ruled out any possibility of sexual assault.

After the murder of Ankita in a resort in Rishikesh, there was outrage across Uttarakhand. People set fire to the resort. Seeing the sentiments of the people, the Uttarakhand government handed over the investigation of this entire matter to a SIT.

According to an English newspaper, a police officer said that the viscera report was received on Saturday. The police officer said that the preliminary report did not mention any sexual assault prior to the murder of the girl.

This confirms the post-mortem report of AIIMS Rishikesh. The police officer said that the SIT had received this viscera report from the local court at Kotdwar in Pauri Garhwal. Which was sent to him from the forensic department in Dehradun.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand ADGP (Law and Order) V Murugesan said that the SIT is about to complete its investigation. A charge sheet is likely to be filed in this case in the next 10 days. We have also written a letter to the government asking for the trial to be done in a fast track court.
