One such case has come from Dehradun in Uttarakhand. On Friday, the team of Dehradun Municipal Corporation took action against such people.
A youth who was carrying only twenty rupees in Noodles polythene was fined a hundred rupees. At the same time, a fine of Rs 15,000 was collected by challenging about three dozen persons and traders.
With the instructions of the Central and State Government, the Municipal Corporation has run an awareness campaign since last week. Notices have also been sent by the Municipal Corporation to all the wholesale traders of the city to stop the use of polythene and single-use plastic.
