On Friday, Congress workers have come out on the road to protest against the central government’s Agneepath recruitment scheme. Angry workers under the leadership of former Chief Minister Harish Rawat took out a padyatra from Shikhar Tirahe. During this, slogans were raised fiercely against the failures of the central government. The padyatra reached Pant Park via Mall Road. where the public meeting was held.

Addressing the gathering, former CM Rawat said that the new scheme Agneepath is a path of ruin for Uttarakhand. After this scheme, the pride of the youth of being a soldier of the Indian Army has also been snatched away.

Said that the youth of the state feel proud to join the army, now after the new scheme, they will not be soldiers but Agniveers. The Kumaon and Garhwal regiments of the Indian Army are a symbol of our self-respect. But the new plan will eliminate the system of army of these armies.
