Every year, on November 19th, men around the world celebrate International Men’s Day. Men’s health and well-being, as well as the improvement of gender relations, are the themes of this day.

Men’s Day promotes a sense of positive masculinity as well. As well as raising awareness of men’s challenges, it acknowledges their positive contributions. Men’s well-being is promoted through campaigns, seminars, and other events on this day.

In 1999, Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh, a history lecturer at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago, founded International Men’s Day on November 19. As a mark of respect for his father, Teelucksingh chose November 19 for the event.

The idea of creating International Men’s Day (IMD) has been a hot topic since the 1960s. As reported in the New York Times, on February 24, 1969, “Many men have been agitating privately to have February 23 marked as International Men’s Day.”

The best way to celebrate International Men’s Day 2022 is to spend a little time with your brothers, fathers, and boyfriends, and to tell them how they enhance your life.

Public seminars, forums, conferences, festivals, and fundraisers have been held to mark International Men’s Day since 1999, as well as school activities, radio and television programs, award ceremonies, and peaceful awareness marches have been part of the celebration.
