President Droupadi Murmu will visit Gujarat on September 12 to inaugurate the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) project at the state Assembly, the state Information Department said on Sunday.
The NeVA project, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary concept of ‘One Nation, One Application,’ is a significant step towards making the Assembly proceedings entirely paperless.
Earlier on Friday, Gujarat Legislative Assembly Speaker Shankar Bhai Chaudhary wrote to President Murmu requesting her to visit the state and inaugurate the project.
In the letter to President Murmu written on Friday, Chaudhuray has also invited her to address the House at the Gujarat Legislative Assembly either on September 12 or 13- as per her convenience.
“As ensuing 3rd session of the 15th Gujarat Legislative Assembly is commencing from September 13. I am honoured to invite your excellency to inaugurate the project “National e-Vidhan Application” (NeVA), implemented on the concept of “One Nation, One Application” of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra ModiJi, and to address the august House at the Gujarat Legislative Assembly on 12.09.2023-Tuesday or 13.09.2023- Wednesday as per your Excellency’s convenience,” the Gujarat Speaker said.

He further said that Murmu’s presence will inspire and strengthen the everlasting spirit of pro-people good governance.
As per the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry, the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) is a Unicode-compliant software developed to make all legislative body work and data available online for usage by both citizens and Assembly members. NeVA also includes a website and a mobile app.
This software allows for simple access to many documents such as the list of questions, list of businesses, and reports, among others.
NeVA also embodies the concept of ‘One Nation, One Application’ with the objective of Cloud First and Mobile First to serve Members FIRST.
