A fire broke out at the Advanced Eye Centre of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh on Sunday night, with the fire brigade pressed to action to douse it.

Prima facie, short circuit is believed to be the cause behind the fire. No damage, both in terms of lives and properties reported so far.
Notably, this is the second such incidence of fire in a week in the medical college in Chandigarh.
On October 10, a fire broke out on the first floor of the PGI’s Nehru Hospital in Chandigarh in the early hours of Tuesday. The fire was doused and all patients were safe. (ANI)
