Violent violence erupted in neighboring Pakistan on Tuesday. During this time, clashes between police and activists of Islamic fundamentalist party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) took place in many cities. Actually, the TLP has been demonstrating for the last several months demanding the expulsion of the French ambassador from Pakistan. On Tuesday, TLP chief Saad Rizvi was arrested by the police, after which violence erupted there.
According to the news agency PTI, a policeman has been killed in the violence. At the same time, TLP has also claimed to have killed 12 of its workers. After this tension, a heavy security force is deployed in Lahore. TLP workers have also blocked the roads. Due to which more than 800 Indian Sikhs are trapped there.
Indian Sikhs have gone to see Gurudwara Panja Sahib
On Monday (April 12), a group of 815 Sikhs reached Pakistan through the Wagah border to celebrate Baisakhi. They have gone to see the Gurudwara Panja Sahib located there. But they have not been able to reach the gurudwara till now. The news agency quoted a Pakistani government official as saying that these Sikhs were being taken to Gurdwara Panja Sahib in 25 buses on Tuesday, but the road was blocked due to inciting violence. Because of this, Sikh devotees are stuck in Lahore. Pakistani official says that an attempt will be made to deliver Sikhs to Gurdwara Panja Sahib on Wednesday.
TLP has given an ultimatum till 20 April
In fact, French President Emmanuel Macron in November last year called the showing of the cartoon of Prophet Mohammed in class as freedom of expression. A teacher showing cartoons was murdered in the garden. After this, Macron supported the teacher. Since then, there is resentment about France in Pakistan. Since then, the TLP party has been demanding the removal of the French ambassador from the country. In November itself, an agreement was reached between the Government of Pakistan and the TLP Party, in which it was decided that the issue would be resolved through Parliament in three months.
The TLP is considered an Islamic fundamentalist party. The TLP has given the ultimatum till April 20 to expel the French ambassador from the country and end all relations with France. The TLP also said that if it does not happen, there will be fierce protests. But before that on Tuesday, the police arrested TLP chief Allama Saad Hussain Rizvi. After which violence erupted there.
A policeman was also killed
Lahore police said that a policeman was beaten to death by TLP workers. After this, a case of murder and terrorism has been registered against many leaders and activists of TLP including Saad Rizvi. It is being told that there were clashes between police and TLP workers in Lahore and several cities of Punjab province. There are reports of violent clashes in Karachi too. The police has advised people to avoid unnecessarily coming out of the houses.
Government said, will not bow down to fundamentalists
Prime Minister Imran Khan has been informed about this entire matter. At the same time, Science Minister Fawad Chaudhary said that the government will not bow down in front of the fundamentalists. Chaudhary said, “This government will not bow down to the staunch Islamists. If today the government bowed down to them, tomorrow everyone will try to pressurize the government to agree to their demands.”
At the same time, TLP spokesman Tayyab Rizvi has issued a statement saying that the protest will continue until the French ambassador is removed from the country. The TLP has claimed that 12 of its workers have been killed in Karachi, Lahore and Talagang.
