Chinese government is offering $31,400 (200,000 Yaun) in the province of Jilin in northeast China as a baby loan to newly married couple. This is done to stabilise the decreasing birth rate of China which is fallen to 1.3(avg) Children per Woman, well below the figure of 2 needed to keep the number stable and forecast a much more dramatic decline than previous estimates.
In August, China Change its two-child policy and approved three children policy this decision was approved by the ruling party of China but even after approving three child policy there was a continuous decline in the birth rate which made the government offer loans and tax breaks to a newly married couple who are planning for their baby.
All major steps were taken because many reports prove that China’s Population could halve within the next 45 years. As per the latest census, the current population of China is around 140 crore which going to halve upto 70 crores by 2066.
If you think that the immigration? could be a solution for increasing the birth rate but it’s not possible because the recently Chinese government has shared the idea of immigration with the public, which results in Xenophobic Blacklash and other racist comments. Not only is the low birth rate is a big problem for China but also there is continuing decline in the number of marriages which made the government approve three child policy but even though it doesn’t make any change in the current birth rate and again made the government to offer baby loans to increase their Population growth.(Merazone)
