The fare of Uttarakhand roadways buses may increase by up to 30 percent. The roadways management has sent a proposal to the State Transport Authority (STA) to increase the fare by 35 to 40 paise per kilometer. Roadways has cited inflation of diesel and vehicle parts for this.

Right now this is the fare of roadways buses: At present, the fare of roadways buses on the plain route is fixed at Re 1 26 paise per km. Whereas, passenger fare is being charged at Re 1 72 paise per km on hilly routes.

Report of fare of passenger vehicles will be prepared by tomorrow: RTO-Administration Dinesh Pathoi said that the report of fixing the fare of private vehicle bus, taxi-maxi cab, auto, rickshaw and city buses, freight of heavy vehicles and Chardham is almost ready. It’s over. It will be sent to STA by Friday.

The fare of roadways buses has not increased since February 2020. We have sent a proposal to STA and Transport Secretary to increase passenger fare by 30 percent. The decision on this has to be taken by the STA itself.
