Uttarakhand government has declared a public holiday on the occasion of the regional festival Harela. In this regard, the Joint Director, Directorate General of School Education, Uttarakhand, Dr. B. Joshi has issued the order.

According to the order issued by Dr. SB Joshi, Joint Director, Directorate General of School Education, Uttarakhand, the main objective of this festival is to connect the future generations of Uttarakhand with nature, so that love and compassion for nature can be generated in their hearts.

It is very important to celebrate Harela festival with children by the school administration in all government and non-government schools of Uttarakhand. In view of celebrating Harela festival with children in all government and non-government schools of Uttarakhand on 15th July, instructions have been given to make available at least 05 photos and reports related to the festival to the commission while informing the school administration.

While sending the copy of the above referenced letter dated 11th July of Uttarakhand Protection Commission, I was directed to say that as per the instructions of the commission, in view of celebrating Harela festival on 15th July 2022 with the children, informing the school administration about the festival. At least 05 photos and reports should be made available to the commission as well as the directorate general.
