Now it will not be easy to get land for religious works in Uttarakhand. For this, approval will have to be taken first from the District Magistrate and then from the Government i.e. Uttarakhand Government. In this regard, the Land Law Committee has submitted its report to Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami.

The committee has advocated for making a strict land law on the lines of Himachal for land allotment. It has been said in the recommendation that in the name of investment, only as much land should be approved for purchase and allotment, as much as the actual requirement.

The Land Law Committee has also emphasized on the arrangement of leasing land in Uttarakhand at the place of purchase. Let us inform that Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami had earlier said that after studying the recommendations of the Land Law Committee, the government will amend the land law in the interest of the wider public, the state. Now the Land Law Committee has made 23 recommendations in its 80 page report.

The committee has told in the report that instead of agriculture, horticulture, land is being misused by making resorts or private bungalows. Due to this people are becoming landless in the mountains. This is also not creating employment.
