Dhami government of Uttarakhand has started preparations for the Kanwar Yatra starting next month. Regarding this, Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar held a long meeting at the police headquarters in the capital Dehradun this afternoon.

Police officers of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and Chandigarh also attended the virtual meeting of DGP Ashok Kumar. In the meeting, there was a discussion regarding the preparations and security arrangements for the Kanwar fair.

Director General of Police Ashok Kumar said that strong arrangements would be made for the security arrangements of Kanwariyas coming from other states for the Kanwar Yatra to be held from July 14 to 26 next month.

He told that this year the entire Kanwar area has been divided into 12 super zones, 31 zones and 133 sectors, in which about 10 thousand personnel will be involved in the police system. The use of drones, CCTV and social media monitoring will be increased for security arrangements.

The Kanwar Yatra was banned due to the Corona epidemic. This time a large number of Kanwariyas are expected to reach Haridwar. Let us tell you that every year, the challenge of the Uttarakhand government is not less than in making the Kanwar Yatra successful.
