In such a situation, Uttarakhand’s Divisional Transport Officer (Enforcement) Sunil Sharma has expressed concern over this. Along with this, he has also issued a warning to the parents. He said that in such cases the parents will be held guilty or the vehicle owner will be held responsible.

The Divisional Transport Officer (Enforcement) said that in case of violation of the traffic rules of the students, the parents will be held guilty under the relevant sections of the new Motor Vehicle Act and IPC. Also, in such cases, there is a provision of imprisonment of three years with a fine of 25 thousand rupees. Prosecution will also be initiated in such cases under the Juvenile Act. According to the rules, if an accident happens to a minor child, then the claim of insurance will also not be given. Also, the registration of the vehicle will be canceled for 12 months.

The Divisional Transport Officer has advised the parents not to allow minor children to drive two wheelers. Also keep a close eye on them.
