In such a situation, the district administration, municipal corporation and health department have started taking steps for prevention and control of dengue.
According to the health department, dengue has a cycle of its own. In about three to four years, it becomes more lethal. If we look at the figures for the last two years, there have been very few dengue cases. In such a situation, there is every possibility that dengue may once again show its effect according to its cycle. According to Subhash Joshi, District Vector Borne Disease Control Officer, it is necessary to take precaution regarding dengue from now on. Because within just 10 days, the work from becoming a larva to becoming a mosquito is done.
If there is carelessness, it can be estimated how many mosquitoes will breed in a short time. He said that the Municipal Corporation, Cantt Board have been asked for regular fogging. Apart from this, ten fogging machines purchased in Kumbh have also been found from Haridwar. These have been given in areas including Vikasnagar, Sahiya, Kalsi, Selakui, Herbertpur, Doiwala etc. Beds are being reserved in government and private hospitals.
141 beds will be reserved in the first phase
Isolation beds are being prepared in hospitals for dengue patients. In the first phase, 141 beds will be reserved in government hospitals. Apart from this, the facility of ELISA test for dengue is being provided in seven hospitals. Apart from Doon, hospitals in Vikasnagar and Rishikesh are also included.
