The accused has cheated many people of Almora, Bageshwar, USnagar, Nainital districts of more than two crore rupees on the pretext of providing jobs. This is the biggest case of cheating in Almora.

Tell that some people of the area had filed a complaint with Lamgada police station five months back alleging cheating in the selection process. People alleged that Ritesh Pandey, a resident of Jail Road, Haldwani, cheated them of forty lakh rupees in the name of getting a job.

The accused absconded as soon as the matter reached the police. Since then, the police have been searching for him. The police had declared a reward of Rs 2,500 for the accused.

However, SSP Pradeep Kumar Rai told that the team formed under the leadership of Police Station President Sushil Kumar arrested the suspect from Shastri Nagar Dehradun on Friday. Action has been taken under Section 420 and the Gangster Act. As a result of his appearance in court, the accused was sent to jail. Police are also collecting information about affected individuals in other districts. The accused will be questioned after being taken into custody.
