The three-day International Spices and Vegetables Festival organized by the Directorate of Horticulture, Uttarakhand at the Purnanand Sports Stadium in Munikireti, Rishikesh, started in a grand manner on Tuesday. The festival was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Agriculture Minister Subodh Uniyal.

Agriculture Minister Subodh Uniyal said that a new brand will be launched soon to take the agricultural products of Uttarakhand to the country and abroad. The packaging of agricultural products will be made available to farmers and self-help groups in the name of Himalaya brand. The packaging will also bear the local brand name of the Self Help Group along with Himalaya. Organic agricultural products grown from the soil of Uttarakhand will establish a different identity in the country and abroad.

Let us tell you that the purpose of this festival is to encourage spices and vegetable traders and exporters as well as to promote spices and vegetables of Uttarakhand.

In the program, Chairman of Municipality Munikireti Roshan Raturi, Horticulture Director SS Baweja, Joint Director Horticulture Dr. Ratan Kumar, Director Kumaon Board, Dr. HC Tiwari, District Horticulture Officer Dr. DK Tiwari, Nidhi Rathore, Niyati Pant, Bhagwan Singh Lingwal, Ravi Shankar Badola, Navprabhat Raturi, Sandeep Rana etc. were present.

Various types of local products stalls went to the Masala Mahotsav. Apart from this, there were separate stalls of Horticulture Department of 13 districts of Garhwal and Kumaon divisions. On the other hand, fruits, vegetables and spices prepared by the farmers like coriander, red chili, turmeric, cardamom, bay leaf and vegetables include capsicum, gourd, pumpkin, cabbage, cucumber (cucumber), pindaloo, petha (bhujela), ginthi and Among the fruits, an exhibition of guava, orange, walnut was organized.

On the first day, agriculture and horticulture experts from the country and abroad guided the farmers in different technical sessions.
