Microsoft on Thursday announced that it had added support for Hindi to its Text Analytics service in a bid to help businesses and organisations in India with customer sentiment analysis.

To give you a brief idea about the service, Microsoft’s Text Analytics service is part of the company’s Azure Cognitive Services. Organisations can use this service to find out what people think of their brand or topic as it enables analysing Hindi text for clues about positive, neutral, or negative sentiment. It can also be used for any textual or audio input or feedback in combination with Azure Speech-to-Text service.

Microsoft’s Text Analytics service is powered by Microsoft Azure and uses various artificial models to analyse content in Hindi using Natural Language Processing (NLP) for text mining and text analysis. The features provided by this service include sentiment analysis, opinion mining, key phrase extraction, language detection, named entity recognition, and PII detection among others.

Apart from Hindi, Microsoft’s Text Analytics service also supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Polish, Greek, Russian, Chinese (traditional), Chinese (simplified), Japanese, Korean, and Turkish.
