Instagram started testing pinned comments earlier this May. It has now announced that pinned comments are rolling out to all Instagram users globally.

As the name suggests, Instagram users can now pin comments they like on top. The pinned comments will appear on top until the user unpins it. It’s similar to how pinned tweets on Twitter works. Users can swipe left on a comment and select the pin icon.

Instagram will also highlight that the comment has been pinned by the user. It however didn’t mention how many comments can be pinned on a single post. This feature is available for Android and iOS users on Instagram.

This was introduced for users to highlight positive comments as part of Instagram’s anti-bullying features. “This feature gives people a way to set the tone for their account and engage with their community by pinning a select number of comments to the top of their comments thread, Instagram said in a blog post.

In addition to this, Instagram had also rolled out a feature for users to bulk delete comments. Users can select up to 25 comments and delete them at once. This feature is available to block or restrict accounts in bulk as well.

Another anti-bullying feature Instagram rolled out was more control for users on tags and mentions. Instagram users now have controls to manage who can tag or mention them in a comment, caption or Story. There are three options for this – everyone, only people you follow, or no one.
