Instagram is expanding support for badges in more countries. Instagram started testing badges in live videos with select creators earlier this year. Fans can buy badges in Instagram live videos to extend support to creators.

Instagram announced it is rolling out badges to more countries but didn’t specify which markets exactly. It first started testing the feature in the US, Brazil, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Spain, and Mexico. Badges appear at the bottom of the comments in live videos. There will be an option to buy a badge to support the creator.

Instagram offers three badges starting at $.99 for one heart, $1.99 for two hearts and $4.99 for three hearts. Instagram lets you purchase only one badge per live broadcast. Payment for the badges are made through the App Store and Google Play Store. Once the badge is purchased it will appear next to all your comments. You’ll also see a special heart emoji that will appear within the Instagram live broadcast. The creator will also get to see that you purchased a badge in a list along with others.

Instagram will not take revenue share for the badge purchases from creators. But as the feature expands to more creators and markets, it will introduce some kind of revenue share, TechCrunch reported.

Instagram started testing ads in IGTVs along with badges. It is now expanding IGTV ads to more creators. Creators can keep around 55% of the total revenue share from IGTV ads, the report added.
