The word “unworried” which means tension-free has gone viral on social media for all reasons bizarre and hilarious!
Apparently, Google was translating the word “unworried” as “avivaahit” in Hindi, which means unmarried.
A Twitter user posted, “Google has applied all of its Artificial Intelligence, NLP, Machine Learning knowledge and Technology to finally give the Right answer to : “Unworried in Hindi”. Go ahead and Type it in Google search!! to Check its meaning… I just did, it says – अविवाहित.”
Soon, screenshots of the mistranslation started doing rounds on social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp. Netizens joked about how Google understands the complexities of human life.
One user said, “They are showing the reason to be Unworried.” Another wrote, “Hahaha! Do you miss being unworried sometimes?”
A third user tweeted, “Google understood that unworried are those who are unmarried. Google is wise.” Yet another added, “Epic #Google #translation to #hindi for the worn ‘unworried’ LMFAO!”
Google is mistranslating the word “unworried” in other languages also such as Marathi, Kannada and Urdu.
However, at the time of writing this article, the translation of the word “unworried” in Hindi was correctly showing as “nishchint”. The search engine is still mistranslating the word in Urdu, Marathi and Kannada.
This is not the first time Google has made a hilarious goof-up. Recently, the name of Bollywood actress and the wife of Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma, was shown as the result for “Rashid Khan’s wife” on Google search. The search engine also showed Sara Tendulkar, the daughter of Indian cricket great Sachin Tendulkar, as the wife of India batsman Shubman Gill.
