Continuing its streak of adding new features, Google Meet has now announced support for Q&A and polls.

Google says the Q&A in Meet will help hosts better engage with their audiences and address their queries. It can be used by professionals as well as in schools. Teachers can use the Q&A feature to get students to ask questions and address them in a more streamlined manner. Google adds the Q&A will also help participants get their queries addressed without disrupting the flow of the call.

“Businesses can use Q&A to help make meetings more inclusive, giving everyone the opportunity to ask questions— including those who may be soft-spoken, joining from a noisy environment, or need more time to process their thoughts. Participants can submit and upvote their favourite questions without disrupting the flow of the call,” wrote Google in a blog post.

Hosts and moderators will have the option to enable the Q&A option for the participants. Moderators can also choose to address the most ranked or relevant questions during a call. Once the meeting is over, hosts get an email containing all submitted questions as well.

It is worth noting that question submission for G Suite Enterprise for Education domains is disabled by default. For all others, question submission will be open by default, added Google.

Google says the polls in Meet can help gauge real-time feedback from participants. Some of the use cases are teachers posting polls to get an idea on whether students are absorbing the material or sales teams can get a real-time perspective from prospective customers on their pitches or presentations.

The two new features will be available to G Suite users starting October 8. Google’s G Suite Business, G Suite Enterprise, and G Suite Enterprise for Education customers will also get the features.
