Elon Musk has yet again taken a dig at big tech companies including Google and Facebook. Musk, who doesn’t reserve his comments about anything on Twitter, targeted the Big Tech companies including Facebook Google in a tweet. He had strongly voiced his opinion against Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg post the violence that ensued at the US Capitol. Musk had also targeted Amazon once for censoring the publication of a book about the coronavirus.

Musk sparked controversy yet again by calling big tech companies a place where talent dies in his reply to a tweet. A Twitter user who goes by the name JD Ross took a dig at Google saying, “Google’s greatest evil is grooming brilliant 22 year olds into becoming complacent careerists instead of ambitious founders who might one day compete with them.”

To which, Musk replied, “Most big companies in tech have turned into places where talent goes to die”. Many Twitter users asked him how is Tesla doing things differently and how is it making sure that the talent does not die.

Another user was quick to defend Google. He tweeted, “Google actually offers a challenging environment with top notch individuals and financial and promotional rewards based on high performance and innovation. It’s a great place to build a career and make money early on, and then make a move.”

Musk’s comment on big tech companies come after Facebook was pulled up by one of its ex-employees. The employee-turned-whistle blower accused Facebook of turning a blind eye to the damages being done to teenage users on Instagram.Frances Haugen shared internal documents with the Congress, Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), and with the press.

Haugen worked at Facebook as a product manager. She decided to be a whistleblower after she left her job at Facebook. Haugen alleged that Facebook knew about the harmful effects on teens on Instagram yet did not take any steps to curb it. “I am here today because I believe that Facebook’s products harm children, stoke division, and weaken our democracy. The company’s leadership knows how to make Facebook and Instagram safer but won’t make the necessary changes because they have put their astronomical profits before people. Congressional action is needed. They won’t solve this crisis without your help,” she was quoted as saying by CNN. (IndiaToday)
