Asus is set to launch its new phone, ROG Phone 3, in India later this evening. This will also mark the global debut of ROG Phone 3. Targeted at gaming enthusiasts, ROG Phone 3 will aim to undercut the upcoming premium smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy Note 20.

Based and leaks so far, here are five important things you need to know about the upcoming ROG Phone 3.

Performance

Asus will double down on the performance with Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon 865 processor. The chipset could be coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB built-in storage.

Battery

Asus’ upcoming smartphone will run on a large 6,000mAh battery. The phone will also have a 30W fast charging speed. There is no word on the availability of features such as reverse charging or wireless charging.

Display

Asus ROG Phone 3 will offer full HD+ resolution. The screen, however, will be an AMOLED panel. The 6.59-inch display is said to come with 120Hz refresh rate, much faster than the recent 90Hz screens.

Camera

Asus ROG Phone 3 will offer at least three rear cameras. The configuration is expected to have a 64-megapixel primary sensor and a 13-megapixel secondary sensor.

An upgrade?

Asus ROG Phone 3 seems to be an incremental upgrade over the last year’s ROG Phone II. The predecessor featured 512GB built-in storage, 120Hz full HD+ AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, and up to 12GB of RAM. The ROG Phone II is currently available online for a starting price of 39,999.
