Bharti Airtel has announced a content partnership with IN10 Media’s OTT platform, EPIC On – India’s Storytellers. As a part of this partnership, Airtel Digital TV will bring the timeless classic series of Malgudi Days to over 16 million subscribers across the country.

“As a brand we are always innovating to delight our customers with a rich bouquet of content. We picked up that nostalgia is a strong consumer need and Malgudi Days is one of the most perfect all-time classics that a whole lot of us grew up watching. We are delighted to add the show to our offerings and promise to continue adding such relevant content for our customers,” Aashish Ahuja, Marketing Head – Airtel digital TV said in a statement.

The show will be broadcasted on the channel number 102 of the Airtel Digital TV which costs 1.5 per day. Airtel said that it has introduced the series ‘with a unique option that will allow customers to binge watch the series’. Simply said, instead of broadcasting the popular TV show one episode at a time, the company will make all the episodes available altogether, thereby enabling users to play the episodes back to back at a time of their convenience.

Talking about the show, Malgudi Days is based on short stories by RK Narayan on a bunch of characters living in a small town called Malgudi. The show was first aired on national television in 1986. Directed by Shankar Nag, the series features the then famous child actor Master Manjunath, Girish Karnad, Vaishali Kasaravalli, Ananth Nag and Arundhati Nag among others.
