Dr Reddy’s Lab gets emergency use authorisation for Sputnik V in India

Dr Reddy's Laboratories said on Tuesday it has received permission from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) to import Sputnik vaccine into India for restricted use in emergency situations. The permission is subject to provisions of New Drug and Clincial Trials Rules 2019 under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. In September last year, Dr. Reddy's had partnered with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) to conduct the clinical trials of Sputnik V and distribute the vaccine in India. In addition to trials conducted in Russia by RDIF. Phase two and three clinical trials of the vaccine were carried out by Dr. Reddy's in India. India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeds 9.80 cr mark

The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country on Friday exceeded 9.80 crores, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Saturday. According to the health ministry, cumulatively 9,80,75,160 vaccine doses have been administered through 14,75,410 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am today. Nearly 34 lakh vaccination doses were administered in the last 24 hours. "Eight states account for 60.62 percent of the total doses given so far in the country," the ministry said.
