A day after several members of IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings had tested positive for Covid-19, all 13 of them have returned positive test results in the follow-up Covid test conducted on Friday. On Thursday, 13 members, including two players – Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad – had tested positive for Covid-19, thus extending CSK’s quarantine period by another six days.

“Yes, all 13 members have tested negative for COVID-19. They will have to undergo another test on Thursday, September 3. We are likely to start training on Friday, September 4,” Viswanathan told PTI from Dubai where the team is based.

“Deepak and Ruturaj will complete their 14-day quarantine and then join training after two negative tests as per protocol.”

However, a bigger good news for CSK awaits in the next couple of days as Viswanathan confirmed that one more Covid test will be conducted on September 3 and provided all the results return negative again, the players would be allowed to start their practice as early as the day after.
