Having said that, let us delve into the story of a man who suffered the unexpected shock of potential fatherhood and blamed it on his cat.
A man has explained how his wife fell pregnant after his beloved cat poked holes in their condoms.
Posting the bizarre tale on Reddit, the man explained how he and his wife decided not to have children until the pandemic was over. They were already parents to a baby boy and the wife was recovering from a stressful pregnancy due to preeclampsia.
However, their ginger cat Tom, who has a knack of getting into drawers and cabinets, had an ‘evil genius’ plan.
“It’s so bad that for weeks after adopting him I thought there was a poltergeist in the house because each morning I’d wake up to find every single cabinet door in the kitchen wide open!” Playtonic1 wrote on Reddit.
The couple had moved to condoms as a form of birth control as his wife was falling ill on the pill. Strangely, his wife became pregnant again. That’s when the man realised the feline was in the picture.
“My first f*** up was storing the condoms in the same drawer as the Q-tips, which he loves to get into and shred apart,” said the Reddit user.
“He must have seen the box of Q-tips in the drawer when I put my rubbers away, because not even an hour later I stumbled upon a horrific scene of chewed plastic straws, shredded cotton fluff and shiny gold condom wrappers scattered around the gapping drawer that once contained them,” he added.
Following the incident, the man cleaned up everything and destroyed the Q-tips. As for the condoms that were spilled everywhere, he just put them back into the box without checking them.
The man said he went on to use the condoms ‘thinking nothing of what happened earlier’.
Just three weeks later, his wife started showing pregnancy symptoms. She took a test and it came back positive.
For a while, the couple was puzzled about the pregnancy, but the man soon remembered that Tom got into the drawer.
“I ran over to the bathroom drawer where I kept the condoms, dumped out the box on the counter and started to inspect each miserable little foil square. “Sure enough, several had noticeable scratches, teeth marks, and even full-blown punctures in them…”
The couple is now getting ready to welcome their second child.
