Today India is going to start a new train journey with neighboring Nepal. The citizens of both the countries were waiting for many years for the train service to start. In recent times, disputes have also come to the fore in India and Nepal over many issues.

Relations between the two countries also soured after the then Prime Minister of Nepal made several statements regarding the border dispute. But now once again India and Nepal are on a new journey of friendship. Finally, on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri and Nav Samvatsar, the train service between India-Nepal is ready to start.

Nepal’s Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has come to India regarding this. On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Modi and Nepali PM Sher Bahadur Deuba are going to inaugurate it through video conferencing from Hyderabad House in Delhi. The railway line between the two countries will be connected to Jainagar-Bijalpura-Bardidas in Bihar. Its total length is 69.08 km.

In the first phase, 34.5 km railway line is going to be inaugurated. Today in the first phase, it will connect Jainagar in Bihar with Kurtha station in Janakpur, Nepal. For this a new station has also been prepared at Jaynagar in Bihar. Passengers will not need a visa or passport to travel in this train.

Indian citizens traveling by train between India and Nepal will be required to carry an identity card during the journey. Only citizens of India and Nepal will be able to travel in this train. Let us inform that Kurtha station is in Dhanusha district of Nepal, which comes in Janakpur zone. That is, now Indian citizens will be able to reach Sita’s birthplace by direct train. Even before this, there used to be a meter gauge red line during the British era, which was abolished in the year 2000. The start of this train will further strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

The expansion of Indian Railways in Nepal from India will further strengthen Indo-Nepal relations, at the same time it will also reduce China’s interference in Nepal. Nepal Railways has kept a Nepalese 60 rupees fare for the journey from Jayanagar to Janakpur station. Whereas according to India, it will cost Rs 37.50. On the other hand, passengers traveling from Jaynagar to Kurtha will have to spend Rs 70 in Nepali and Rs 43.75 in Indian currency.
