Significantly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier extended a formal invitation to French President Emmanuel Macron to be the Chief Guest at the 75th Republic Day function.

Delhi Police, meanwhile, has been conducting mock drills as part of its security preparedness for Republic Day.
Earlier this week, Delhi Police personnel from East District conducted a mock security drill at V3S Mall Nirman Vihar in east Delhi ahead of the New Year celebrations and the Republic Day.
Teams from Delhi Fire Service, Delhi Traffic Police, Bomb Squad, Dog Squad, Cats Ambulance, and SWAT Cammondos took part in the mock drill. (ANI)
