Today’s Google Doodle is very special. Google has paid tribute to the famous singer and filmmaker of Hindi film industry Dr Bhupen Hazarika by making a creative doodle today i.e. on 7th September. Today is Dr Bhupen’s 96th birthday and to make this occasion special, Google has come up with a wonderful doodle.

Today’s Google Doodle has been created by Mumbai-based guest artist Rutuja Mali. In this, Dr Bhupen is seen playing the harmonia. He made a different identity around the world with his songs and music. Dr Bhupen has sung many such songs, which people still remember and they keep humming them.

Apart from being a singer and musician, Dr Bhupen is one of the prominent socio-cultural reformers of Northeast India. With the help of his music, the people living in all the areas have been united.

Talking about his family, Dr Bhupen’s father was a resident of Nazira town in Sivasagar district. Bhupen Hazarika’s early education took place in Guwahati. Then he studied political science from BHU.

His interest in music grew during college. Bhupen learned classical music in Banaras in the company of Ustad Bismillah Khan, Kanthe Maharaj and Anokhilal. After this he started using it in his Assamese songs.

Dr Bhupen wrote 2 songs at the age of only 12. He influenced famous Assamese lyricist Jyotiprasad Agarwal and film producer Bishnu Prasad Rabha with his music at a very young age. Both were prominent in the rich cultural history of Assam.
