Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday interacted with BJP karyakartas (members) from Uttar Pradesh via the NaMo App, calling them the face of the party as they stay connected with the voters all round the year.
“All of you (BJP workers) are in direct contact with the voters. For them, you are the face of the BJP. When you meet a voter, he sees Modi in you too. Whatever you are telling them, they think that Modi is saying it. If you can inspire confidence in voters that you are representing Modi, they will repose trust in the guarantees that you give them. That’s why you are our eyes and ears, our representatives in the eyes of the voters,” he said.
Coming out in glowing praise of the party workers, he said they are setting new records in the state through their hard work in the Lok Sabha and the assembly elections.
“In the last 10 years, BJP workers in Uttar Pradesh have proved political pundits in the country wrong. Not even the biggest experts in electoral politics can rival the grasp and knowledge of our BJP workers here. Be it Lok Sabha or Vidhan Sabha elections, you are setting new records with every election. I am delighted to see your enthusiasm but leaders of other parties get cold feet seeing it. I am confident that all BJP workers in UP are working hard to ensure victory at all booths (in the Lok Sabha polls),” he said.
Hitting out at the Opposition, PM Modi said the BJP-led NDA was fighting the elections to make democracy prevail over family politics.

“The state’s fascination with the uncle-nephew regimes has long been over. In this election, we are fighting against nepotism. We are fighting to save democracy from family politics,” he said.
He also urged the party workers to take care of their health as the polls would be held in the peak summer months.
“It is very hot these days. I would also request the workers to take care of their health. When working in such heat, make sure to drink water. The more you watch your health, the easier it will be to work hard,” PM Modi said.
Uttar Pradesh, which sends the maximum number of MPs, 80, to Parliament, will vote in all seven phases.
Earlier in the 2019 elections, turning the arithmetic of the SP-BSP ‘Mahagatbandhan’ in Uttar Pradesh upside down, the BJP and its ally Apna Dal(S) won 64 of the 80 Lok Sabha seats. The partners in the alliance, Akhilesh Yadav’s SP and Mayawati’s BSP, could only muster 15 seats. (ANI)
