Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered setting up of cyber police stations and forensic labs in all the 18 police ranges of the state.
Reviewing the functioning of home department on Thursday night, Adityanath also directed staff required for these cyber police stations and forensic labs be appointed quickly.
He also directed that process of setting up a forensic university in Lucknow be expedited.
During the review, additional chief secretary Awanish Awasthi said investigation room, as well as women and men’s barracks, were being constructed in 322 police stations of the state.
Besides, in 31 battalions of PAC, barracks of 200- bed capacity each, along with construction of separate hostels and transit hostels, for men and women in 44 police lines were being done. Awasthi said it was the first time that barracks for women were being constructed.
Residential and non- residential buildings in 36 police stations and 14 police outposts and 68 new fire stations were being set up and the capacity of 9 police training institutes was being doubled, Awasthi said.
