Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to introduce ‘Hindu Gaurav Diwas’ to mark the second death anniversary of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, an official statement said on Sunday.
“Union Home and Cooperative Minister @AmitShah ji will inaugurate ‘Hindu Gaurav Diwas’ tomorrow on the second death anniversary of Kalyan Singh ji in Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh)”, the official statement read.
Meanwhile, Shah, along with Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Smriti Irani arrived in Aligarh and were received by Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath earlier today.
The event is taking place at the Numaish Maidan in Aligarh.
Addressing the event, Union Minister Piyush Goyal hailed the government and stated, “We consider the position of the Prime Minister as a medium to serve the poor. Remembering Babuji (Kalyan Singh), let us all pledge that we will elect Modiji (PM Narendra Modi) as the Prime Minister again in 2024”.

Kalyan Singh passed away on August 21 at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow, due to sepsis and multi-organ failure. He was a two-time chief minister (June 1991 to December 1992 and September 1997 to 1999), as well as a Governor of Rajasthan (2014-19).
He also held various organisational posts in the Bharatiya Janata Party, both at the state level and central levels.
Meanwhile, Shah also visited the poll-bound Madhya Pradesh a day earlier and launched the report card of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government.
Presenting the 20-year report card of the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said the state used to be counted among the “Bimaru” (sick) ones during five decades of Congress rule but was no longer a backward state. (ANI)
