Three coaches of Indore Metro arrived in the city late Wednesday night and its trial run would begin soon, an official said on Thursday.
Madhya Pradesh Metro Corporation Director Shobhit Tandon told ANI, “On August 23, three coaches had left from Gujarat and all these coaches reached here on Wednesday night. We have unloaded one coach today, after that the remaining two coaches will be unloaded.”

Preparations for the trial run will be started from Thursday itself. These coaches will be run on a testing track before the trials. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan wish for the trial run of the metro to be performed first in Indore and then in Bhopal. These coaches are made in Baroda (Vadodara) city in Gujarat, he added.
MP Metro Rail Corporation will operate the metro train here and its tickets will be like other states, which will be decided by a committee, Tandon further said.

Indore MP Shankar Lalwani, who came to inspect the coaches, told ANI, “Three metro coaches have arrived in Indore and its trial will be of 6 kilometres in the mid of September. These coaches are among the best coaches in the world and AI (Artificial Intelligence) is connected. Its track has been prepared in a very short time.”
After the trial, it will be launched for the public in 2024. In the first phase for the public, the metro will be about 16 kilometres long, which will start from the airport (Gandhi Nagar area) to Khajrana intersection via Vijay Nagar, Lalwani added.
Notably, the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister recently unveiled the model coach of Metro train at Smart Park located in Shyamla Hills in the state capital Bhopal on last Saturday, August 26.
On the occasion, CM Chouhan said, “The trial run of the metro train will begin in Indore and Bhopal in the month of September and the trains will start running by April-May. Now Bhopal and Indore will be metro rail cities. Metro trains will provide many facilities to people. Travel time will be less and the journey will also be comfortable.” (ANI)
