There has been a big disclosure in the affidavit of the SIT in the bail petition of Teesta Setalvad. The SIT filed an affidavit and said that money was taken twice from Congress leader Ahmed Patel. In which Rs 30 lakh was found in the Godhra incident and the money was transacted in the circuit house.
Which is mentioned in the affidavit. The SIT has claimed that Teesta Setalvad had received Congress funds to destabilize the Gujarat government in 2002. At the same time, the SIT has claimed that an attempt was made through Teesta to defame the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and Gujarat to bake political bread.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case of fabrication of evidence told a city sessions court on Friday that social activist Teesta Setalvad, former DGP RB Sreekumar and former IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt had carried out the conspiracy.
There was a grand conspiracy with political motive to sack and destabilize the then elected Gujarat government and wrongly implicate innocent people including the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
Opposing the bail petitions filed by Setalvad and Sreekumar, the SIT filed an affidavit citing two witnesses and claimed that there was a conspiracy to malign Gujarat’s image by ‘the then Rajya Sabha MP and political and political leader Late Shri. It was composed at the behest of Ahmed Patel.
Citing witnesses, the SIT further claimed that Setalvad visited relief camps within a week of the Godhra train incident and held meetings with political functionaries.
The SIT alleged that in 2007, the central government awarded the Padma Shri to Setalvad “for malicious and vexatious prosecution”. The probe agency has accused him of making these efforts to achieve his political ambitions and said that his aim was to become a Rajya Sabha member.

The SIT cited a witness who claimed that Setalvad questioned a political leader why film personalities Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar were made MPs and were not considered.
