On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave a detailed interview to news agency ANI regarding the 2002 Gujarat riots and spoke openly on all aspects during this time. During such a long legal battle, the then CM of Gujarat and now the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, even after tolerating all the allegations without saying a word, Home Minister Amit Shah kept his word.

According to ANI, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said during the interview, “The battle of 18-19 years, such a big leader of the country, without uttering a word, kept fighting all the sorrows by taking them in the throat like the poison of Lord Shankar. And today when at last the truth has come out like gold, it has come out shining, then there will be bliss.

He said, ‘I have seen Modi ji facing this pain from close quarters. During the battle of 18-19 years, he kept fighting with all the sorrows like Lord Shankar’s venom in his throat, tolerating it, yet did not utter a word. All this can be done only by a man of very strong mind.

Let us inform that on June 24, the Supreme Court dismissed Zakia Jafri’s petition in the 2002 Gujarat riots case. In this, he challenged the clean chit given by the SIT to 64 people including the then CM Narendra Modi.

Dismissing Zakia Jafri’s plea against the closure report of the SIT, the Supreme Court upheld the magistrate’s order. The top court, in its remarks while giving the verdict, said that Zakia Jafri’s appeal has no merit and deserves to be dismissed.

Home Minister Amit Shah further said in an interview with ANI, “I have seen Modi ji facing this pain from close quarters. Faced with charges. And even though everything is true, because the judicial process is on, we will not say anything, this stand can only be taken by a man of very strong mind.”

Home Minister Shah said that the things that I am speaking in the interview at this time, could have been said as the Home Minister of Gujarat, could have been said as the party president because there is no change in the situation. Facts are facts, but till the entire judicial process was not over, Modi did not say anything to influence it. Keep on bearing everything silently.”
