Five people were injured after a bomb exploded on Daldali road in Patna on Monday morning, said police. Two houses were completely destroyed, and a few neighbouring ones were damaged in the incident.

According to a resident of the locality where the incident took place, the blast was heard up to a radius of one kilometre.

The incident took place at a tenant’s house, which had been occupied for the past six months. However, the owner of the house did not know the whereabouts of the tenant at the time of the incident. “The tenant is an auto driver,” Sandeep Pandey, another tenant in the same house, said.

“I was sleeping when I heard a loud sound. I rushed to the spot and saw people bleeding. My father was also injured in the blast,” Pandey told police.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital, police sources said.
