India’s battle against COVID is not just being fought by the government also the people of India. Not only on the health front but in terms of the economic revival, many entrepreneurs have worked hard to achieve positive growth.

Many innovators in the country created an opportunity amidst a global crisis, and have created unique products for India to fight against the Coronavirus pandemic. In order to discuss the episode, we have with us an imminent guest panel, Akshay Singhal, Log 9 Materials, Kartik Mehta, Saral Designs, Kartik Singhal, Zeco Aircon & O2Cure, and Upkar S Sharma, Crea Worldwide.

Kartik Mehta of Saral Designs spoke about how the company realised that there was an uptick demand for three-ply masks in the market around March 2020. He said that sanitary napkin machines were re-engineered at that point to manufacture masks. We had reached out to the Mahindra Group and it helped us in the process, Mehta said.

Desperate times call for desperate needs. Upkar Sharma who’s company is into manufacturing bags and other accessories started making breathable PPE kits after the outbreak of Covid-19.
Sharma explained that the thought process behind the manufacturing of PPE kits was primarily being able to help the frontline workers. Secondly, most of the PPE kits that were available around March back then were designed to suit the needs of western countries.
