Actor Shah Rukh Khan, who unveiled the all-new Hyundai Creta at the Auto Expo 2020, said on Thursday that he is still “the Santro wala“.

“I always tell them, everybody, MD and everyone, that I am the Santro wala,” Khan said when asked what was his favourite product from the Hyundai stable.

He was interacting with the media after unveiling the Creta.

“Now I am the corporate brand ambassador and have to talk about Creta and everything. But still my all-time favourite car is Santro,” he further said.

Widely adored for his acting skills and charismatic personality, Khan was at his alluring best on stage while launching the new Creta. “It’s a big honour to be with my Hyundai family,” he said. “Two things happened in the last 22 years – I had a son and became the brand ambassador of Hyundai India. So I am like the father of Hyundai in India,” he added.

“The main thing to happen in 22 years is that Indians have trusted Hyundai brand,” the actor said, adding that it is a key aspect of being a success story in a country as diverse as India.

Talking about the new Creta, the actor said that the car is good looking, robust and sexy. “In short, it looks like me.”

Hyundai launched the new Creta on Thursday. The company has given it a bold design which. Hyundai’s MD and CEO SS Kim said, “Creta is set to rewrite a new era of dominance in SUV segment with its masculinity.” The car comes in three engine options – 1.5-litre petrol and diesel, and a 1.4-turbo petrol. It also gets a more premium cabin with updated features. First launched back in 2015, HyCreta has been a hit story for Hyundai but recent times saw it losing ground to newer rivals.

Hyundai would now be hoping that backed by the charm and charisma of Shah Rukh Khan, the premium compact SUV is once again able to rule Indian roads.

As for the Bollywood actor, he first partnered with Hyundai in 1998 and the association is continuing till date.
