A total of 93 students have been tested COVID positive at Uttarakhand Government Nursing College. The college hostel has been declared a containment zone after positive cases has been detected. After this, samples from 200 students were taken. Reports of some students are still being awaited.

Out of total 200 students, 65 students who tested negative for COVID 19 are being sent to their home. The hostel has been declared as a containment zone following the order of District Magistrate Tehri.

The Uttarakhand government has decided to cancel the class 10 Board exams and to postpone the class 12 Board exams 2021 amid rise in COVID cases in the state. The state board will now hold a meeting on 1 June 2021 and will take call on the exams on the day of the meeting.

Uttarakhand reported 5084 new cases raising the numbers to 33330. The death toll has reached to 2102 as per an official statement from the State Health Department. In view of this, all government offices will remain closed from April 23 to 28, 2021 to check the spread of COVID 19 in government offices. The officials must be present in the headquarters. The mobile phones must be kept on so that they can be called to the office if needed on urgent basis.
