After months of waiting, Sony has finally given the good news to its PlayStation fans on day-1 of 2021. The Japanese tech firm has announced the release date of its PlayStation 5 (PS5) gaming console in the country. The new device will be launched in India on February 2nd, 2021. However, you can pre order it starting 12PM IST on January 12.

Sony adds that the pre-orders will be available until stocks last at respective retailers. Some of the retailers mentioned are Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, Games The Shop, Shop at Sony Centre, Vijay sales and select other authorized retail partners.

In a statement given via Twitter, Sony’ PlayStation India acc mentioned that “We take this opportunity to once more thank our PlayStation enthusiasts for their patience and enthusiasm around PS5.”

Sony India has already announced the prices of the console. The new console will set you back by  49,990 for the disk edition and by  39,990 for the digital edition.

Along with this, the prices of the PS5 accessories are out as well. The DualSense Wireless Controller will cost you  5,990, the HD camera comes for a  5,190, the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset is for  8,590, the media remote is for  2,590 and the DualSense Charging Station is for  2,590.

In the past, Sony has confirmed that it will be adding more PS5 inventory before the end of the year owing to unprecedented demand for the console. Back in November, it even claimed that PS5 launch was its biggest console launch ever.

“We want to thank gamers everywhere for making the PS5 launch our biggest console launch ever. Demand for PS5 is unprecedented, so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year – please stay in touch with your local retailers,” the official PlayStation account tweeted.
