Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh’s capital, will commemorate the birth anniversary of tribal independence hero Birsa Munda as ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’ on Monday at Jamburi ground, where an estimated two lakh tribals are expected to attend.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to visit Bhopal for about four hours, during which he would deliver a speech to commemorate the ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’ and subsequently dedicate the reconstructed Habibganj Railway station to the people. The station will now be known as Rani Kamlapati, a Gond queen who is considered Bhopal’s last Hindu queen.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive at Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj Airport at 12.30 p.m., according to the official itinerary. At 1 p.m., he would arrive at the Jamburi ground for the ‘Janjatiya Gaurv Diwas.’ The Prime Minister will launch a total of 14 projects aimed at improving the well-being of indigenous people.
Habibganj Railway Station, presently known as Rani Kamalapati Railway Station, was built under a public-private partnership (PPP) at a cost of roughly Rs 450 crore. The station is built along the same lines as the Heidelberg railway station in Germany. The renovation of the station began in July 2016 and was completed in 2017, with a three-year timeline. The modern station offers a number of features, including passenger separation based on arrivals and departures. It provides a view into the airport, particularly the waiting room, which can accommodate thousands of people at any given moment.
