LJP (Ram Vilas) chief and the party’s candidate from Hajipur Lok Sabha seat, Chirag Paswan on Wednesday slammed the Opposition INDIA bloc, saying that the alliance has neither a leader nor any policy to gain the support of the people.
Speaking to ANI, he said that the only aim of the INDIA alliance is to defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding that such an agenda can’t be a vision for the development of the country.
“INDIA bloc has neither a leader nor any policy. Their priority is to defeat PM Modi, and it can’t be a vision for the development of the country,” Chirag Paswan said.
“Just to defeat a person, you (parties in the INDIA alliance) have done everything possible and compromised with your principles, policies and everything to join together,” he added.
He asked why anyone should support the INDIA alliance which does not have a vision other than to defeat PM Modi.
Reacting to Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi’s allegation that PM Modi “misleads” people by bringing religion into the politics, Paswan said that it is the leaders of the INDIA bloc who talk about giving reservations based on religion.
“Everyone knows who misleads in the name of religion. Why do appeasement politics start during the elections?” he said.
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Monday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has nothing to show for the work it did in the last 10 years of its tenure, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is asking the public to vote for his party in the name of Gods and Goddesses.
Addressing an election rally in Kangra, Priyanka Gandhi said, “The BJP tries to topple the elected government with its money power. MLAs were being lured with Rs 100 crore offers each. The Prime Minister of the country has the responsibility of maintaining democracy and building morality. PM Modi asks for votes in the name of Gods and Goddesses.”
