The Delhi government has decided to ban the entry of medium and heavy goods vehicles in the capital Delhi. Traders and transport organizations have expressed displeasure over the decision of the Delhi government. He says that this move of the government will adversely affect the business in the capital.

Explain that the purpose of banning the entry of medium and heavy goods vehicles in the capital Delhi from October 1 to February 28 was to reduce pollution. However, vehicles carrying essential commodities like raw vegetables, fruits will be allowed to enter the city.

All India Motor and Goods Transport President Rajendra Kapoor demanded the withdrawal of the ban and asked the Delhi government to consider some other way to solve the problem of pollution.

He said that various essential commodities which are in hundreds of tonnes can be carried only by heavy motor vehicles and not by light vehicles. Heavy machinery and construction materials are also brought from different states and this cannot be carried by a light motor vehicle.

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has called a meeting of major trade associations of Delhi on June 29 to decide the future course of action on the issue.
