Tata Tiago XTA variant launched with AMT gearbox at ₹5.99 lakh

Tata Motors on Thursday announced the launch of the new Tiago XTA variant. The new variant of Tata's popular hatchback has been introduced at a starting price of ₹5.99 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The key highlight of the new Tiago XTA variant includes its AMT gearbox and as per Tata, the new launch strengthens its automatic line up with four AMT options. Supreme Court stops e-rickshaw registration

The Supreme Court of India has ordered all state governments and union territories to stop the registration of electric vehicles. The order comes after Kolkata based lawyer Kanishk Sinha, whose company Jasper Motors holds a patent for “battery mounted on a vehicle which is eco-friendly and is restricted to e-rickshaws,” claimed that he is the only facilitator who can get electric vehicles registered in the country. He argued that no state or union territory had the right to register any electric vehicle powered by batteries. It is said that to register an EV, customers will have to use the services of Amit Engineering as it has leased the rights from Kanshisk Sinha. Scrappage Policy Approved; Govt To Charge Green Tax On Old Vehicles

The Ministry of for Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has finally approved the vehicle scrappage policy that will come into effect from 1st April, 2022. The policy, however, will be applicable only to government vehicles including both Central and State governments. The vehicles used by government departments and PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) will be de-registered and scrapped out if they are older than 15 years. This decision has been taken to reduce air pollution, while encouraging demand in the automobile industry. The vehicle scrappage policy for personal, transport and commercial vehicles is yet to be announced.
