The Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that only by preserving environment and nature, we can aspire for a safe future. He was speaking on the occasion of ‘Rajpur Nature Festival- 2019’ organised by the forest department here on Saturday. Appreciating the festival, he said that it creates awareness among people about environment and its preservation.

He said that in recent times, the awareness in the people about environment protection and cleanliness has increased.

The CM said that the stalls of local produces would encourage the farmers and help them in sharing their experiences. He said that on November 5, a 50 km long human chain would be formed in Dehradun to give the message of discarding single use plastic. The chain would be formed by 1 lakh people. He appealed that the natural beauty, for which Uttarakhand is known, should be protected.

After inaugurating the festival, the CM also released a brochure about the birds and butterflies found near Rispana River.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Ganesh Joshi said that Rajpur has a special identity and Rajpur community initiative has taken an appreciable step in preservation of nature.

The chief forest conservator, Jayraj, said that the three-day grand festival is being organised for creation of awareness for environment. He claimed that the forest department has undertaken many initiatives for water conservation.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CAMPA, Samir Sinha, President of Rajpur Community Initiative Renu Paul and officers of forest department were present on the occasion.
