Renowned music composer Shravan Rathod of popular duo Nadeem-Shravan is no more. He died due to COVID-19 complications on Thursday evening. Shravan was 66. He was admitted to a Mumbai-based hospital a few days ago and was reportedly put on ventilator support as his condition got critical.

Nadeem–Shravan were the most successful Bollywood music directors of the 1990s until the early 2000s. He was famous as a musician known for his songs in films such as Saajan, Sadak, Phool Aur Kaante, Deewana, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Raja, Agni Sakshi, Pardes, Raja Hindustani among others.

After years of successful musical partnership, the two split in 2005. Dosti: Friends Forever was their last movie together.

Bollywood trade analyst Komal Nahata confirmed the news on his official Twitter handle as he wrote, “Terrible news. Music director Shravan breathes his last, loses battle with COVID-19. Very sad day for music industry.”

Celebs including singer Shreya Ghoshal paid tribute to the late music director on social media. “Shocked to hear the news of Shravan ji (of Nadeem Shravan) passing away. A genuine humble human being and one of the biggest composers of our music industry. Another huge loss in this pandemic. God give strength to the bereaved family. Rest in peace,” she tweeted.

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar paid his tributes to the departed composer and wrote, “Very sad to know about the passing of music composer Shravan. Nadeem-Shravan created magic for many films in 90s and later, including Dhadkan that has remained legendary in my career. Deepest Condolences to his family.”
