A Mi-17V5 helicopter of the Indian Air Force crashed on Wednesday in the hills of Coonoor in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu. According to information received from sources, 13 out of 14 deaths have been confirmed. Now the dead will be identified only through DNA test.

In this accident, 14 people including Chief of Defense Staff Bipin Rawat, his wife and military personnel were aboard. Also, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will issue a statement regarding this incident in Parliament on Thursday. PM Modi took cabinet meeting in Parliament. Reports surfaced in the media said that CDS Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, Brigadier LS Lidder, Lt Col Harjinder Singh, NK Gursewak Singh, NK Jitendra Kumar, Lance Naik Vivek Kumar and B Sai Teja and Havildar Sapal were in the helicopter. A total of 14 people were on board.
