Border Security Forces (BSF) shot down a Pakistani drone carrying narcotics along the India-Pakistan International Border near the Amritsar border, Force said on Monday.
The Public Relations Officer, Punjab Frontier, BSF in a statement said that the gross weight of the recovered consignment of suspected narcotics is approximately 2.7 kg.
“On May 28, at about 8: 50 pm, alert Border Security Force troops deployed in-depth area, heard the buzzing sound of a suspected Pak drone, in the area near Village Dhanoi Khurd in district Amritsar. As per the laid down drill, BSF troops immediately reacted to intercept the drone and successfully downed the Pak drone with Contraband,” the PRO added.

During a subsequent search of the area, BSF troops recovered a black coloured Drone (Quadcopter, DJI Matrice, 300 RTK) alongwith a consignment containing one bag of suspected Narcotics, the PRO statement added.
Earlier on Sunday, BSF shot down a drone and arrested a smuggler with 3.2 kg of drugs near the India-Pakistan International Border in Punjab, a senior official said.
“On the intermittent night of May 27-28, Border Security Force (BSF) troop shot down a drone (Quadcopter, DJI Matrice RTK 300) near Village Dhanoe Khurd, district Amritsar. Troops apprehended a smuggler,” BSF DIG Sanjay Gaur, Amritsar said on Sunday. (ANI)
